OFFICIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. General Competition Details

Auscramble 3-Man Scramble National Competition
Applicable Law The Competition is governed by the laws of Australia and the State/Territory of which the competition is being played.
Acceptance of Terms Entry and participation constitute the Participant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Terms and Conditions and the official Terms of Play.
2. Eligibility & Amateur Status

2.1. Team and Player Requirements:

Team Composition: Each team must consist of three (3) eligible players.

Age Requirement: The is no Age requirement for an Auscramble event. Should a person under the age of 18 become the winner of an event and the subsequent prize needing adult supervision it will be solely and entirely at the expense in every way, shape and form of the supervisor and/or winner of the minor in question.

Professional Status: NO Touring professional Golfers are permitted to participate in an Auscramble event. Professional Golfers with a handicap of Plus 4 or worse and with an official GC Handicap may participate.

2.2. Handicap Requirements & Competition Status:

Official Handicap: All players must hold a current, verifiable Golf Connect Handicap at the time of entry.

Purpose of Handicap: The GC Handicap is used solely for flighting and calculating the team's playing handicap and in no way does an Auscramble event contribute to any player's Official Handicap and is therefore exempt from any and all Amateur status rulings.

Non-Qualifying: The Competition is a non-qualifying event for the purposes of individual handicap calculation. Scores will not be processed for individual GC Handicap adjustment.

2.3. Compliance with Amateur Status:

Prize Compliance: No cash, golf vouchers, or golf equipment will be awarded for the results of the golf competition itself in excess of official rule to ensure compliance with Amateur Status rules.

3. Entry Fee, Cancellations, and Refunds

3.1. Entry Fees: The full team entry fee must be paid in its entirety at the time of team registration. Entry is not confirmed until the fee has cleared.

3.2. Team Cancellation by Participant:
-
Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be provided to the Organizers in writing.
-
30+ Days Prior: 50% Refund of the total entry fee.
-
30 Days or Less Prior: No Refund will be issued.
-
Substitution: Individual player substitution is permitted if the substitute meets eligibility and the Organizers are notified 48 hours prior to play.

3.3. Event Cancellation or Postponement by Organizers:
-
Minimum Play: The competition requires the successful completion of 18 holes. No 9-hole format is permitted.
-
Cancellation: If the entire Competition is cancelled and cannot be rescheduled, Participants will be entitled to a full refund.
-
Partial Completion: If the event commences and 18 holes cannot be completed, the round will be declared void, and the event may be postponed or cancelled.

4. Prizes and Awards

4.1. Competition Prize: The winning team will receive three (3) entry tickets into the Separate Auscramble Prize Draw.

4.2. The Prize Draw Prize: The winner of the Prize Draw will receive a package for three (3) people, including return international flights, accommodation, and access to specified golf courses in California, USA, as arranged at the sole discretion of the Organizers.

4.3. Tax and Winner Responsibility (Crucial):
-
The winner is solely responsible for all costs, taxes, and expenses associated with accepting and using the Prize, including all applicable Australian or US taxes, travel insurance, visa costs, and all costs exceeding the defined prize package.

5. Competition Format & Rules
-
5.1. Governing Rules: Play is governed by the current Rules of Golf (R&A) and any applicable Local Rules.

5.2. The Committee: The Auscramble Tournament Committee is the final authority on all rules and disputes.

5.3. Format Specifics (3-Man Scramble):
-
Minimum Drives: Each player on the team must contribute a minimum of six (6) tee shots that are selected and played during the round. Failure to meet this minimum will result in disqualification.

Playing the Shot: The chosen ball must be marked. The other two players must place their ball within one scorecard length (through the green) or one putter head length (on the putting green) of the marked spot. All three (3) players may play every shot.

5.4. Official Scoring (Golf Genius):
-
Official scores must be submitted using the Golf Genius mobile application.
-
Score Discrepancy: The physical scorecard of Tee Shots, correctly signed and attested, will be deemed the final and official score for Tee Shots. Failure to submit a correctly signed and attested physical scorecard will result in disqualification.

5.5. Tie-Breaker: Ties will be decided by a play off of the 18th hole, hole re cut after 3 play off holes then hole 9 and re cut after 3 play off holes (at the discretion of the club involved) They may wish to skip this step and choose a different hole. If still undecided a shot on any given hole from 100 meters to be determined by either Club Captain or Auscramble Committee member by one (1) player only from each team. Closest to the hole wins.
6. Liability, Indemnity, and Assumption of Risk (ACL Compliant)

6.1. Voluntary Participation and Assumption of Risk: The Participant acknowledges that participation involves inherent risks and voluntarily accepts and assumes these risks.

6.2. Waiver and Release of Liability: The Participant agrees to waive, release, and discharge the Organizers, Host Golf Club, and Sponsors from any and all claims for liability, to the fullest extent permitted by Australian law.

6.3. Limitation of Liability (ACL): Liability for death or personal injury arising from a breach of consumer guarantees for the supply of recreational services is excluded under Section 139A of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), except in cases of reckless conduct or gross negligence.

6.4. Indemnity: The Participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties against any costs or liabilities suffered or incurred as a result of any act or omission by the Participant.
TERMS OF PLAY
1. Two teams minimum per tee, if two teams can not be achieved then a Club official (Match Committee Member) must Score for a single team.
2. Each player must tee off on each hole, the chosen ball is taken at the discretion of the team, all three players may hit the second shot and so forth until the ball is in the hole.
THERE IS NO SITTING OUT OF SHOTS.
3. The chosen ball must be marked, distance from mark for players to place ball must be no more than a Card length and a putter head on the green. Balls MUST be placed and NOT dropped, all no closer to the hole.
4. If the ball marked is in the rough then the next shot must be taken from the rough, cut grass length or hitting surface may NOT be improved.
5. If the ball chosen is in the bunker then the next shot MUST be from the bunker and balls MUST be placed, NOT dropped.
6. A MINIMUM of SIX (6) tee shots must be taken/used by each player. Failure to comply will result in disqualification.
7. Golf Genius Scoring Application must be used for every event to alleviate discretionary scoring and results.
8. Handicap breakdown is as follows
Low Handicap 25% + Mid Handicap 20% + High Handicap 15% = Event Handicap.
Should two (2) handicaps of the same team be identical, Golf Genius will automatically differentiate and allocate percentage rates to acquire the team event official Handicap.
